Senator Stephens co-authored the grocery sales tax, the largest tax cut in Oklahoma history. HB 1995, 2024
Senator Stephens strengthened national security by banning “sanctuary cities” in Oklahoma (HB 2774, 2021). He even toured the Southern Border with Texas Border Patrol Agents to see the problem for himself.
Senator Stephens co-authored the bill to prevent the sale of Oklahoma farmland to our foreign adversaries. SB 212, 2024.
Senator Stephens was one of the few Senators to Endorse President Trump and attend the official opening of the Trump highway in Oklahoma.
Senator Stephens has supported and co-authored measures to protect women’s sports and ban critical race theory and woke indoctrination in our schools.
Senator Stephens co-authored the bill protecting life by banning abortion when a baby’s heartbeat was detected (HB 2441, 2021).
Authored legislation preventing discrimination on the basis of vaccination SB 835, 2021.
Senator Stephens co-authored the bill making Oklahoma a “Second Amendment Sanctuary State”, voiding any measure that undermines your Second Amendment rights. (SB 631, 2021). He also authored legislation resolving Constitutional Carry issues in cars while on school property SB 277, 2023. Named OK2A “Minuteman of the year” award for 2021 and 2023 for protecting our rights.
Protected hunting licenses for Oklahomans who want to experience the outdoors. SB 917, 2023. Serves as the Congressional Sportsman’s Caucus Senate Co-Chair— working as a national leader for advocating for Oklahoma outdoorsmen, hunters and fishermen.
Authored an increased tax credit for volunteer firefighters for their service in protecting our community SB 747. Authored legislation to increase the death benefit for our brave first responders HB 1824, 2024. Protected our families and communities from illegal drug grows SB 1737, 2022 / HB 3382, 2022.
Established the American Quarter Horse as the state horse of Oklahoma, honoring Oklahoma’s heritage HB 3261, 2022.
Cowboy has been an ardent champion of “lock the clock” legislation that would give Oklahomans an extra hour of daylight year-round. He authored legislation with principle house author Speaker Charles McCall SB 1200.
Cowboy authored legislation that ended regulation and allowed for business licensing across state lines SB 575.
