Cowboy's Bride...Kathy "Granny" Stephens. Happily married for 37 years.
Sapulpa FFA invited Blake to their awards banquet. Blake said, "It brought back many memories! It was an honor and I had a blast! The last time I attended was in 1979. I was the FFA President and Master of Ceremonies."

Cowboy shared a unique honor with his 17 year old Granddaughter. This was her first time to donate blood. They gave simultaneously at the 2019 Fall OBI Blood Drive held at Locust Grove High School.
Kathy Stephens, Cowboy's wife,  was recognized as the November 2019 Employee of the Month for the entire Locust Grove School District...approximately 220 employees! She has worked for Locust Grove for 22 years and is the Upper Elementary School Librarian.
Blake's family came out in force to support him at the National Finals of Team Roping at Oklahoma City!

Blake grins and bears it after the previous customer had set him up by unscrewing the lid to the cheese container! This was at Hideway Pizza in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
This is one of Cowboy's favorite pictures taken of he and his son. "We spent every minute together hunting and fishing. I would go back to those days when he was a little boy if I could."
Cowboy is teaching his granddaughter some horsemanship skills. This is  how to flex and use a one rein stop.
This is Blake's Dad's 77th Birthday Celebration. "My Dad has been a huge blessing in my life. I am so thankful he taught me how to love like a REAL man."
The COVID-19 has changed the world momentarily. Our school put together a video for our students. This was my message that was used on that video. "This deal has been hard on everyone. We will get through this together. I can't wait for things to return to normal. Please stay safe. Prayers for everyone!"
Cowboy's two sisters couldn't resist stopping for a selfie on a road trip to Arkansas during the COVID-19 ordeal. He is very proud of his sisters.

Hunting

It took 27+ years to draw the tag of a lifetime. Persistence paid off! Wichita Mountains, Oklahoma Wildlife Department  Draw Hunt.
Believe it or not Cowboy is a "meat" hunter! He's just very selective.
Oklahoma free chase white-tail with a bow is always special. Biggest 8 point Cowboy's ever arrowed.
Cowboy's Granddaughter's first deer. Blake put her in the Oklahoma  Youth Controlled Draw Hunts and was successfully drawn out at the Tenkiller WMA.
Passing on the family tradition of hunting on the ranch to his youngest Granddaughter. Feral hogs are a nuisance but make for some awesome table fare!
Blake enjoys hunting mushrooms. This is a good day hunting morels. Wild mushrooms is cowboy cuisine!
Turkey hunting is one of Cowboy's addictions. He has been giving turkey feathers to his students for well over 20 years for their birthday's. Many treasure them and keep them for life!

2018 was a special.  Blake a harvested  this buck with his bow in Oklahoma during the annual gun deer season. He would go on a couple of  weeks later to arrow a respectable white-tail in Kansas during their annual gun season.
2018 was a special. Blake arrowed this buck in Kansas during the Kansas Gun Season. A couple of weeks earlier he harvested a nice buck with a bow during the Oklahoma Gun Season.
Had a pretty good day with the stick and string. Controlling predators increases the turkey population.
My granddaughter's second deer. Harvested it during an Oklahoma Youth Hunt. This will forever be one of my favorite weekends of all time.
Blake had a great time hunting birds in Western Oklahoma with his buddies!
These are Cowboy's two largest bucks to date with a bow. The buck on the left officially scored 177 2/8" gross. The buck on the right officially scored 175 4/8" gross.
Blake had a great day in Kansas hunting with his buddy, Brad Cowan...not pictured...taking the picture.

The picture doesn't do this buck justice. This is Blake's largest white-tail to date. He officially scored 177 2/8" gross. And, there is an amazing story behind it. Ash him about it sometime.


Politics

Thank you to Coach Mike Gundy for coming out during the Historical Education Movement at the Capitol and supporting education!
Blake was honored to be the Grand Marshal at the Locust Grove Founders Day Parade in 2018.

Blake "Cowboy" Stephens took out some time on the gubernatorial campaign trail to meet a high school student in Edmond who is very engaged in politics.

Locust Grove turned out everyday at the Capitol representing our students and families across the state.
Blake "Cowboy" Stephens at the State Capitol participating in the Historical Oklahoma Education Movement. The large wooden pitchfork was a gift to his daughter-in-law and she suggested that Blake put his sign on it to display.  The pitchfork gained instant popularity and became somewhat iconic during those two weeks.
Blake "Cowboy" Stephens met many, many good, hard working people during the Education Movement. Much was accomplished and many relationships were established.

This is one of Cowboy's running buddies at school. Parent consent was obtained.
This is the heartbeat of the Cowboy and what makes him tick! He loves children. They both have on their spurs. They sing Gene Autry's  , "Jingle, Jangle, Jingle" often as they walk down the hall together going to class.
Blake opened the OK2A Grove Event in prayer and lead the pledge of allegiance in March 2020.


Rodeo

Cowboy  winning 10th  in the #8 Roping at USTRC National Finals

Farm & Ranch

Blake "Cowboy" Stephens ... Kansas Wheat Harvest. Blake  goes North each year to help out his farming buddies. It's always long hours and lots of fun! His first wheat harvest was the summer of 1979 after high school graduation.

This is the smallest calf we've ever had hit the ground here on the ranch. "Sometimes you have to go that extra mile", says Cowboy.
Cowboy likes chainsaws! This makes number 7. The perfect number.
This picture was taken on July 26, 2014, when it's generally in the triple digits.  Blake has cut and hauled wood to Billy Ray's BBQ in Tulsa and Broken Arrow for 25 years. "There's no days off around here. LOL"
Basic farming 101 in REAL life in Kansas on wheat harvest. I was the grain carter!
I have been going up to Kansas for the past several years helping them harvest their wheat. This picture was taken during the 2013 Harvest. My first wheat harvest was in 1979 right out of high school. We cut all summer. Started at Alva, Oklahoma and ended up in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
